'Intensity' is the one word that can truly describe me. Most people try to focus on just a few things in life. I can't seem to get my fill unless it includes a little bit of everything. I look at life like a buffet - try a little bit of everything, and have the most of what you enjoy the most.
Since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of being in movies, singing and dancing on stage, and flying starships (random, right?). I started off in musical theatre, dance, gymnastics, piano lessons, and various acting classes. Any chance I found to be on stage, I took it, including shows I put on myself. I grew up with 2 sisters, and we were nick-named the "Silly Sisters". I lend my insane sense of humor to my father and of course my sisters for always laughing with me. My mother was a doctor and my father was an engineer and HUGE Star Trek fan, so naturally I was drawn to those things through my fascination with space and science. It also provided yet another stage opportunity - solving advanced mathematics problems in front of groups of people and building my own "space ships". Of course, coming from a highly educated family, the notion of me running off to Hollywood to try my luck like every other cute girl out there was simply out of the question. So I went on to college and earned an engineering degree, just as my family always expected of me. I landed a great job with an electrical firm, but still kept acting, singing, and dancing as a hobby. Then the recession hit, and along with the economy, went my job as well. I decided it was time to take charge and pursue my dream of being an actress once and for all.
I have studied the art of acting in its truest form, and have a deep sense of respect for every character I play. As I have become more involved in entertainment, I have discovered a passion for being behind the camera as well as in front of it. This has led me to writing, directing, and producing as well. Understanding the intricacies of both sides of the coin has allowed my versatility and knowledge as an actress to flourish. I firmly believe in continually growing and learning as an individual and a professional. Exploring the depths of character allows one to explore the depths of themselves.
My own personal character exploration has led me to embrace my logic and creativity through my multiple endeavors. My passion for space and science is revealed in my science fiction film endeavors, and of course I can't help but allow for my sense of humor to creep into almost every project I work on. I hope to someday pursue my PhD in physics full time, but until then, making movies of what can be will do just fine. As the famous scholar Kurt Godell would say, ontology vs. epistemology define life and logic: what is versus what can be.
